It’s not that often that I get to shoot portraits in London, so it was nice to have the opportunity to photograph Kylie a couple of weeks ago.
Unfortunately the weather wasn’t playing ball, so the context of Hyde Park, where we met, isn’t shown… but never the less I hope you like these photos.
Kylie was great to work with. She’s an Australian living in London. She didn’t even mind me asking if Kylie was a normal name in Australia (yes, it is).
I was using the Samsung NX30 for the majority of the shoot, which has proven itself to be a top-notch camera. I especially liked working the 60mm f/2.8 macro lens, which I think garnered the best results here. Last year I reviewed the Samsung Galaxy NX (I still have some shots I need to blog from that…. slap on the wrist for that), and I much preferred using the NX30 – a nice combination of touchscreen, electronic viewfinder and physical buttons.
I also used the Sony A5000, which is a great little camera, but it is pretty different from the NX30. If you click on an individual picture below, you’ll be able to see which was taken with which camera.
As always, any comments, suggestions, thoughts and so on, most welcome in the box below!
I still say it was Natasha Bedingfield.
